In some Mūlasarvāstivāda texts, an attendant of Ānanda is also mentioned who helps encourage Ānanda when heis banned from the First BuddhistCouncil. He is a "Vajjiputta" (Sanskrit: Vṛjjiputra), i.e. someone who originates from the Vajji confederacy.
