Let the common ratio of their ages be x

Their ages: 2x and 3x

5 years before

ages: 2x-5 , 3x-5

Sum of their ages = 2x-5 + 3x-5 = 68

5x-10 = 68

5x = 78

x = 15.6

Their present ages =

2x = 2*15.6 = 31.2  = 30 years (approx)

3x = 3*15.6 = 46.8 = 47 years (approx)
