the hybridisation of C2H6 was Sp3 of both C atoms on hetrolytic fission both will get a free radical and hence forms CH3: so the hybridisation will become Sp2 due to this radical

Hey dear,

● Answer -
C-atom in CH3+ => sp2 hybridised
C-atom in CH3- => sp3 hybridised

● Explanation -
Heterolytic fission of ethane takes place as follows -
CH3-CH3 + ∆ --> CH3+ + CH3-

In this process, one carbon loses electron electron while other takes it up.
C-atom which loses electron becomes sp2 hybridized while that which accepts electron gets sp3 hybridized.

Thanks for asking..
