The HSK pathway, also known as the C4 pathway is executed in two cells namely mesophyll as well as bundle sheath cells.

in the mesophyll cells

the initial carboxylation process takes place which is catalysed by an enzyme known as PEPcase +Phosphoenol pyruvate carboxylase)
