Indifference Curve is the graphical representation of two different commodities which shows the same level of satisfaction to the consumer.
In this curve ,
We have different possible combinations of the two commodities , Each combination shows same level of satisfaction...means even though consumer have different combinations but whatever satisfaction he get from each combination will be same aa per consumers assumption...
Here Consumer not able to make any difference by getting satisfaction from each different combination of commodities so Called indifference curve...
In difference cirve is convex to the Origin and slope of indifferenece curve is MRS ( Marginal Rate of Substitution )...
MRS is the rate at which consumer substitute/ sacrifice one commodity for the other...
MRS is negative here , which is due to Monotonic preference of consmer which means More and more consumption of commodity leads to more satisfacrion and vice versa...
Here , in order to comsume more commodity , consumer has to substitute / sacrifice other commodity , this causes the negative slope or downward slope of Indifference curve...
