Answer:

ladder is 15m long and the wall is 12m long.

The length of ladder is hypotenuse and the height of wall is height of a right angle triangle.

Now, By using pythagoras theoram.

15

 {15}^{2}  =    {12}^{2}  +  {b}^{2}

now,

 {b}^{2}  =  {15}^{2}  -  {12}^{2}

 {b}^{2}  = 225 - 144

 {b}^{2}  = 81

b =  \sqrt{81}

b = 9

The foot of the ladder from the wall is 9m long.

Answer:

11m

Step-by-step explanation:

If we draw this structure, we will find a right angled triangle

In figure one can see that distance is a base of a triangle

So we can say that,

Ladder is a hypotenuse of triangle whereas wall is a height of a triangle

According to Pythagoras theorem,

We can say,

(15m)²=(12m)²+ (xm)²

(xm)²=(15m)²- (12m)²

xm=root 225m²-144m²

xm=root 121m²

xm=11m ans.
