In case of water deficiency why is the rate of photosynthesis lowered

It happens because in the process of photosynthesis the water needed is only one percent of total water absorbed and the rest are used in the process of transpiration and maintenance of shape of leaves.

If the H2O is less then leaves will become limb through heat and the stomata will close and other effects which lead to lower surface of the leaf available for the process and the process of photosynthesis will be lower.

HOPE THIS HELPS ..........
