Given:

In certain area population was 15,500 in 2010 and From 2010 till now population increased by 20% annually whereas death rate was 7% .

To find:

What is the current population ..?

Solution:

From given, we have,

The population was 15,500 in 2010.

The population increased by 20% annually whereas the death rate was 7%.

⇒ We need to add the 20% of the population to the population that was in 2010

⇒ We need to subtract the 7% of the population to the population that was in 2010

Therefore, we have,

The current population

= 15,500 + 20% of 15,500 - 7% of 15,500

= 15,500 + 20/100 × 15,500 - 7/100 × 15,500

= 15,500 + 3100 - 1085

= 17,515

∴ The current population is 17,515.
