Given:

The value of Young's modulus of iron in CGS system = 2* 10^12 dyne/cm²

To find:

The value of Young's modulus of iron in S.I system.

Solution:

As we know that :

1 dyne = 10^-5 N

1 cm² = 10^-4 m²

Combining both of them, we get the value of Young's modulus for iron in S.I system:

1 dyne/cm² = 10^-1 N/m²

Therefore, 2*10^12 dyne/cm² = 2* 10^12 * 10^-1 N/m²

= 2* 10^11 N/m²

Therefore the value of Young's modulus of iron in S.I system will be 2*10^11 N/m².
