A4- a- Yan was in a little glade inside a wood.

b - Yan had found a fresh trail the previous day. He reached the glade by going back to the trail and following two new tracks

c - As Yan looked up, he saw two big-eared, greyish animals that trotted to a bank and then turned to gaze at him

A5- a- Yan did not think of shooting because he was too fascinated by the deer. He kept watching  the magical animals and their graceful movements.

b-  It was strange because Yan had been looking for the deer all these days to hunt them.  However, when he finally came face to face with them, he was so fascinated by the animals that  he did not even think of shooting them.
