Actually electric field is from positive charge to negative charge whereas chemical force moves negative charges which are attracted towards positive ones and so chemical force seems to act from negative to positive side and so electric field and chemical force act in opposite directions.

Akshara464: What is electric field and why it is from positive charge to negative charge
MihirDabhi: it is a field just like magnetic field, gravitational field etc. and by convention it goes away from positive change and towards negative charge.
Akshara464: Thanks
