A democracy involves more than elections. Did you know NK carries elections too? Would you say they are a democracy?

Democracy means citizens understanding of and acting upon their rights and duties. It means the government is held accountable and it has separation of power. It means carrying fair elections and citizens ability to choose their leaders. It also means having certain kind of freedoms: press, religion, opinions, etc. A democracy is also able to evolve and develop.

China does not have enough things to be called a democracy, except for only some freedom of religion to a certain extent, access to the internet (with censorship), and market economy.

Also, in case somebody mentions the U.S, yes technically speaking the U.S is not a democracy either but a Federal Republic and has Constitutional Representative Democracy.

In a democratic government there should be a bi-party system but in china there is only one party so it is not democratic.

The ruling party is not elected by the people. This gives a free pass to wrong decisions.

This is why China is not having a democratic government.
