Although elections are held in China it is not considered as a democratic country because it has one party system

In China elections are held every five years. Through these elections around thousand members are selected who form the parliament of China which then elects the president. But there is a party called Communist party, to contest the election we have to take permission from this party. Hence,we can conclude that there is no fair opportunity to change the leader. That's why China is not a democracy
