In China elections are regularly held after 5years for electing the country's parliament but still it cannot be called a democratic country. Give reason

It is so because... in China the hierarchical system of election is held... where in the local Congress is directly elected by the people.. but the higher levels of the Congress is indirectly elected.
Hence the bigger proportion of the legislatures are indirectly elected and the people have no direct control over it.. The Govt. is considered Supreme and all verdicts and laws passed by them r considered fundamental, hence the government in China is more COMMUNIST than DEMOCRATIC.
