In civil disobedience movement, the people used non-violent means to protest, some of which are given below:

1. Defiance of salt laws- the Dandi March, this was launched as the starting of the civil disobedience movement.

2. Women participated in blocking of liquor shops, and foreign cloth stores. Their aim was to boycott foreign products.

3. Refusal to pay taxes or protection money by the common people- as observed in Bihar. Also, no tax movement started in other places against land revenue payments.

4. Defiance of foreign laws- one such example was that of the forest laws.
