The poem "Animals" written by Walt Whitman beautifully describes the difference between human and animals.

The poet feels that he could turn and live with animals. The poet find the animal to be placid and seld-conatined. They don't whine about their situation, neither do they brag. The animals don't weep for their sins as they commit none. They don't kneel in front of other nor to those who lived thousand years ago

Unlike animals human beings are always jealous of each other. They kneel to their ancestor. They announces their duties to God. Whereas they denied to follow the path of honesty and humanity.

The poem then self introspects and understands that human too contained the hood qualities of animals but in the race of civilisation they've dropped them long way back.
