Let the number of girls be x, then the number of boys as given: 6/7 of girls

Number of girls = x

Number of boys = 6/7 of x

= 6x/7

Total number of students given: 52

hence,

No. of girls + No. of boys = 52 students

x +  \frac{6x}{7}  = 52

 \frac{x}{1} +  \frac{6x}{7}  = 52

LCM of 1 and 7 is 7

 \frac{7x + 6x}{7}  = 52

 \frac{13x}{7}  = 52

x = 52 \div  \frac{13}{7}

x = 52 \times  \frac{7}{13}

x = 4 \times 7

x = 28

Hence, the number of girls is 28

then the number of boys will be 52-28= 24

Therefore, the number of girls is 28 and the number of boys is 24.
