In class test containing 10 questions. Each correct answer awarded 5 marks and for each incorrect answer have negative 2 marks.Neel scored 45 marks so incorrect answer?

  • Number of incorrect answers.

Total number of questions in class test = 10

Let number of correct answers = x

Let number of incorrect answers = y

So,

Total Questions answered contain correct answers and incorrect answers.

So,

  • x + y = 10
  • x = 10 - y ...(1)

According to Question:--

Each correct answer awarded 5 marks and for each incorrect answer have negative 2 marks.Neel scored 45 mark.

↣5x - 2y = 45 .....(2)

  • ▶️ Putting value of x in 2)

↣ 5 ( 10 - y) - 2y = 45

↣50 - 5y - 2y = 45

↣ 50 - 45 = 7y

↣ 5 = 7y

↣ y = 5/7
