In class there are 40 students. Three - fifths of them are girls and rest are boys what fraction of the class are boys?​

Total no.of pupils in the class =40

No. of girls =3/5

let the no. of boys be x.

=x + 3x/5 =40

=cross multiply it.

Then,

=5x+3x/5x=40

=8x/5 =40

=8x=40×5

=8x=200

=x=200/8

=x=25..

Hence the number of boys in the class =25
