The excellent poem Resisting Arrest is written by Kyle Dargan. In the context of this poem, arrest contributes to violence and havoc in any society. The way police treat people is linked to racial disparity.

Explanation:

  • The poet thinks all of this is unfair since he gets arrested for witnessing a  murder.
  • He points flaws out of the social system so these can be corrected.
  • People can change the way they approach others by thinking of them as their equals in all ways.
  • I have been unfairly treated by my mathematics teachers based on my colour.
