The coordinates on the X-axis are called Abscissa and those on the Y-axis are called Ordinate. In general we use the pattern (x,y) which is the same as (abscissa , ordinate). In (8,12), abscissa is 8 and ordinate is 12.

In coordinate *first number is always abscissa and second is always ordinate.
