Total distance divided by speed of Amit into 2 = x+2-1

so, 30/60 x x+2 = x -1

so, x = 4km/h

ans is 30/ x+2. =5

Answer: The speed of Amit would be 10 km/hr.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the speed of Suresh be 'x'.

Let the speed of Amit be 'y'.

Distance covered = 30 km

Amit takes 2 hours more than Suresh.

According to question, it becomes,

\dfrac{30}{y}-\dfrac{30}{x}=2---------(1)

Similarly, If Amit doubles his speed then he would take 1 hour less than Suresh.

\dfrac{30}{x}-\dfrac{30}{2y}=1--------------(2)

From eq(1), we get that

\dfrac{30}{y}-2=\dfrac{30}{x}

Put it in the eq(2), we get ,

\dfrac{30}{y}-2-\dfrac{30}{2y}=1\\\\\dfrac{60-30}{2y}=1+2\\\\\dfrac{30}{y}=3\\\\\dfrac{30}{3}=y\\\\y=10\ km/hr

Hence, the speed of Amit would be 10 km/hr.
