William Blake is clearly closer to Soho, Manhattan which is where this poem was first composed and thus he is closer to a marvelously metropolitan city

The poet has recreated a picture of the Indian countryside very effectively. She talks of extensive groves of spice, fields of rice. She mentions streams with Lotus growing in plenty and dance of fireflies at night that lights up the surroundings and poppy plants with colourful flowers and neem that are common in rural countryside.
