in damping oscillation what happens to total energy and amplitude

In damped vibrations,the amplitude of the oscillation decreases .

The potential energy is converted to kinetic energy and some energy is lost due to air friction as dissipated energy.Due to this loss of energy ,the amplitude of the vibration decreases.

But ,the total energy is always conserved.
