Mitosis is a part of the cell cycle when replicated chromosomes are separated into two nuclei. Through cytokinesis which is the dividing of the cell components into two, two new cells are formed each having equal shares of cellular components. The two daughter cells are identical to the parent cell. In this case since the parent cell is diploid then the daughter cells become diploid.
