There are many types of embryo transfer types. So embryo i.e zygotes are transferred to several positions. In ZIFT technique i.e Zygote Intra Fallopian Tube Transfer, zygotes are transferred into fallopian tube in which case zygote remains in morula or blastula stage. But in GIFT i.e Gamete Intra Fallopian Tube Transfer, sperms are injected inside fallopian tube to let them fertilise with ovum.ZIFT is generally used in case of test tube baby where mother has reproductive disorders regarding gamete production but well developed implantation systems. In case of ZIFT when zygotes are in gastrula or more advanced stage then they are injected into uterus directly. But GIFT is used in case of defective sperms, hence donated sperms are injected.
Hence it is proved that in ET techniques embryo sac not always transferred into uterus.
I have provided detailed explanation for better understanding.
