Draw a line EF which is parallel to CD

So we get

EF∥CD and EC is transversal

from the figure we know that ∠FEC and∠ECD are

consecutive angles

so we get

∠FEC+∠ECD=180

by substituting the values

∠FEC+124

so we get EF∥AB and AE is a transversal
