Step-by-step explanation:

Given In each of the following cases show that the rational number are not equivalent:-1.4/9 and 16/27 2.100/3 and 300/9

  • Given In each of the case we need to show whether the fractions are not. equivalent. Therefore we need to apply the rule a / b = c /d where a x d = b x c. If this satisfies then it is equivalent else it is not an equivalent rational number.
  • So 4/9 and 16 / 27
  •                          4/9 = 16 / 27
  •                   4 x 27 = 16 x 9
  •                    108 ≠ 144
  •                 108 is not equal to 144 this is not an equivalent fraction
  •         Now 100 / 3 = 300 / 9
  •              100 x 9 = 300 x 3
  •                900 = 900 So this is an equivalent fraction
