when two lines are crossed with a transversal ,the angles at the same position and which are congruent and equal are called corresponding angles .

(a)

as the corresponding angles are congruent and equal

➠17x + 4° = 12° + 15x

➠17x -15x = 12° - 4°

➠2x = 8°

➠x = $\frac{8}{2}$

(b)

corresponding equals are equal ,so
