ANSWER

EMF- Electromotive force

E

cell

=E

R

−E

L

It is the difference in the reduction potential of reaction taking place at cathode and anode respectively.

Galvanic cell- Anode is on left as oxidation takes place

Cathode is on right as reduction takes place.

(anode)

Zn∣Zn

2+

(cathode)

∣Cu
