in electrochemistry if emf of cell is difference between the electrodes then why do we sum up Eop and Erp? we usually subtract for difference.
EMF of cell = Eop + Erp
plz answer sincerely otherwise I will report you.​

It is the difference in the reduction potential of reaction taking place at cathode and anode respectively.

Galvanic cell- Anode is on left as oxidation takes place

Cathode is on right as reduction takes place.
