In electrostatic force 2 objects are rubbed. then how is it a Non-Contact force?please explain.

I know something but I don't know if it is right. but I think it relates to the question. they say every force is a non - contact force because if two bricks were rubbed, both of there atoms won't combine or touch each other, instead they repel. but we can't see it because that is happening between atoms which can't be seen by our eye. so maybe they meant it in this way. I guess. sorry if I messed your mind. but still rubbing 2 bricks (frictional force) is a contact force because you can see the contact.
