The Snake Trying’ by W.W.E. ROSS is a poem depicting the central idea that not all snakes are poisonous and dangerous. A majority of the snakes are victims of man’s fearful wrath. In the poem the poet describes one such green snake who was assaulted and chased away. He was lying at a secluded place, perhaps resting. Someone saw it and chased it away. The poet appeals to people to spare such snakes as they are harmless, even to children.
