In equatorial plane the magnetic field lines due to the earth's magnetic field are as shown below. An artificial satellite of metallic body revolves around the earth in this magnetic field. Discuss the possibility of electromagnetic induction in the body of the satellite.

The figure is not given. So it is not possible to give the exact solution.   However, We can use the Faraday's law of electromagnetic induction to know about electromotive force emf.

If the satellite is moving along the circumference of equator or in a circle parallel to it (concentric), then velocity v and magnetic field lines B are both parallel.   So There will not be any emf generated.  The change in the magnetic flux wrt to time is zero.

If the satellite moves in an orbit in a plane that is at an angle to the equatorial plane, then the change in magnetic flux through the orbit results in emf.  Then in the body of the satellite there will be potential difference across the ends of the body.
