In equilateral triangle ABC, AD perpendicular BC and BC = x cm. Find in terms of x, the length of AD.​

If AD is perpendicular to BC, then AD is a median of Triangle ABC.

As we know that median divides the triangle in two halves.

ATQ,

BC= xcm(given)

In Triangle ABC (equilateral triangle)

AB=BC=AC= xcm

AB+BC+AC=180

x+x+x=180

3x=180

x=180/3

x=60 cm

From above statement, we can write

AD=BC/2

AD=x/2

AD=60/2

AD=30 cm

Hence, the value of AD is 30cm
