In exchange of a square plot one of whose sides is 84 m, a man wants to buy a rectangular plot 144 m long and

of the same area as of the square plot. Find the width of the rectangular plot​.

area of square = area of rectangle

let breadth of rectangle be X

84*84=144*X

x=84*84/144

x=49m

Side of square plot = 84m

Length of rectangle = 144m

Area of Rectangle = Area of Square

Length ×Breadth = side ×side

144 ×B = 84 ×84

b =  \frac{84 \times 84}{144}  \\  b=7 \times 7 = 49
