In experiment (C), speed of reaction increases if we use iron wire scrubber instead of iron nail. which factor do you observe that affects the rate of reaction? explain

thickness of metal indirectly proportional to rate of reaction

In this case the Surface area of the metal(iron) is actually effecting the reaction, actually increased surface area increases the reaction rate.

In many generalised cases, surface area of the catalyst is a big factor in reactions. As we can clearly see, here the iron wire scrubbers have much larger surface area than iron nails. As the scrubbers are way thinner than nails, same amount of iron scrubber holds a huge increased surface area than the nails, thus increasing reaction rate of experiment (C).
