In extremely cold weather , a family burnt coal in the room during night keeping doors and windows closed . after sometime, they felt saffocated . they immediately opened the doors and the windows and got relief. explain what did actually happen?

The coal during burning released Co2.this was not sent out since they closes doors so lack of oxygen in their house they suffered from suffocation.when they opened the door the Co2 went out of their house and the air came in so they took O2 and relaxed.
