Given Information :

• In feb 2017, Mohanrao took \sf 1\dfrac{1}{2} litre of milk.

• Cost of per litre = Rs. 36

To calculate :

• How much his monthly bill will be?

Clarification :

Here, we are given that Mohanrao took \sf 1\dfrac{1}{2} litre of milk daily in the month of February, 2017. Cost of per litre milk is Rs. 36. We are asked to find his monthly bill i.e, how much he will gain in February.

Firstly, we'll calculate how much bill he gets daily, after that we'll multiply the number of days in february,2017 with his daily bill to in order to calculate his monthly bill.

Given that,

  • Total amount of milk taken by Mohanrao daily = \sf 1\dfrac{1}{2} litre = \sf \dfrac{3}{2} litres

If cost of per litre milk is Rs. 36, so

 \longrightarrow \sf {Cost_{( \frac{3}{2} \: liters )} = \dfrac{3}{2} \times Cost \: per \: litre }

Substituting the value of cost per litre.

 \longrightarrow \sf {Cost_{( \frac{3}{2} \: liters )} = Rs \; \Bigg \lgroup \frac{3}{2} \times 36 \Bigg \rgroup }\\

Multiplying 36 with 3 in R.H.S.

 \longrightarrow \sf {Cost_{( \frac{3}{2} \: liters )} =Rs \; \Bigg \lgroup \dfrac{108}{2} \Bigg \rgroup }\\

Now, dividing 108 by 2 in R.H.S.

 \longrightarrow \sf {Cost_{( \frac{3}{2} \: liters )} = Rs. \; 54 } \\

Therefore, he gets Rs. 54 daily in the month of february.

Now, as we know that February as 28 or 29 days. 29 days when the year is a leap year. Since 2017 isn't a leap year, so it's february has 28 days.

\longrightarrow Monthly Bill = Number of days in February × Amount he gets each day in the month of february

 \longrightarrow \sf {Monthly \: Bill = Rs. \; ( 28 \times 54) }\\

Multiplying 28 with 54.

 \longrightarrow\underline{\boxed{ \sf {Monthly \: Bill = Rs. \; 1512}} } \; \bigstar

Therefore, his monthly bill will be Rs. 1512.
