There's no such function performed by the polar body as it does not have the ability to get fertilised. They sometimes divide unevenly. The polar body only gets a small amount of cytoplasm which is why they do not contribute in the formation of the embryo. They frequently die (known as Apoptosis) and disappear, but in some cases they REMAIN AND CAN BE IMPORTANT IN THE LOFE CYCLE OF THE ORGANISM.
