Let O be the center

AB the diameter.

Now by NCERT theorem a line passing through the center bisecting any chord is perpendicular to it.

Therefore

Given=EB is 4cm

So let OE be (radius-4)or (r-4)

Now in right triangle OEC by applying pythagorus theorem you will get the answer

(R-4)2+82=R2

R2+16-8R+64=R2

R2cancelled

8R=80

R=10cm
