In Fig. 14.34, AC is a diameter of the given circle
and angle BCD = 75°. Calculate the size of
(i) angle ABC
(ii) angle EAF​

Answer:

1. Since ABC forms a semi-circle,

  so, the angle form by it is equal to 90°

  → angle ABC = 90°

2. ABCD is a quadrilateral

   angle BAD = 360° - (75°+90°+90°)

                       =360° - 255°

                       =105°

angle EAF = angle BAD [vertically opposite angles criteria]

angle EAF = 105°

Angle ABC

Triangle ABC = 180°

Half of Angle C = 75/2 = 37.5°

Angle C and Angle A are equal( interior angles)

So Angle ABC = 180 - (half of Angle C + half of Angle A)

= 180 - ( 37.5 + 37.5 )

= 180 - 75 = 105

Therefore , Angle ABC = 105°

Angle EAF

Angle EAF = 75° ( vertically opposite angles are equal )

Angle EAF is 75° because Angle A and Angle C are vertically opposite...
