Given :  ABCD is a rectangle in which CD = 6 cm, AD = 8 cm.

To find : Area of parallelogram CDEF.

Proof :

We know that, the area of parallelogram and rectangle on the same base between the same parallels are equal in area.

So,  ||gm CDEF and rectangle ABCD are on the same base and between the same parallels, then

ar (||gm CDEF) = ar (rectangle ABCD)

ar (||gm CDEF) = AB × AD

[area of rectangle = length × breadth]

We know that,

ar (||gm CDEF) = Base × Height

ar (||gm CDEF) = CD × AD

[AB = CD]

ar (||gm CDEF) =  6 × 8

ar (||gm CDEF) = 48 cm²

Hence, the area of parallelogram CDEF is 48 cm².
