Given :ABCD is a rectangle with sides AB = 10 cm and AD = 5 cm.

To find : Area of ΔEFG.

Proof :

Since, a triangle and a parallelogram are on the same base and between the same parallel then the angle of triangle is equal to the half of the parallelogram

∴ ΔEFG and ||gm ABCD are on the same base and between same parallels. The

ar (ΔEFG) = ½ × ar(||gm ABCD)

ar (ΔEFG) = ½ × AB × AD

[Area of parallelogram = Base × Height]

ar (ΔEFG) = ½ × 10 × 5

ar (ΔEFG) = 5 × 5

ar (ΔEFG) = 25 cm²

Hence, the ar (ΔEFG) is 25 cm².
