therefore diameter= 7×2

= 14cm.

diameter of circle = side of square = 7cm.

therefore area of shaded region = area of square - area of circle

= a^2 - pi * r^2

= (14)^2 - 22/7 × 7 ×7

= 196 - 154

= 42 cm^2
