Given : Three coplanar lines intersect at a point O.

From the figure it is given that, ∠BOD = 90° and ∠DOF = 50°

∠BOD = z = 90° and ∠DOF = y = 50°

[Vertically opposite angles are equal.]

 

Now,  

x + y + z = 180° [Linear pair]

x + 50° + 90° = 180°

x + 140°  = 180°

x = 180° – 140°

x = 40°

∠AOF = u = x = 40° (Vertically opposite angles)

Hence , the  values of x = 40° , y = 50°, z = 90° and u = 40° .
