in fig.,∆AOC and ∆BOC form a linear pair. determine the value of x.

since , angle AOC and angle COB form a linear pair ,

angle AOC + angle COB = 180 ( sum of pair of linear angles is 180°)

its given that ;

angle AOC = 4x

angle BOC = 2x

4x+2x = 180°

6x=180°

x=180/6

x= 30°

hence ,

angle AOC = 4x = 4×30= 120°

angle COB= 2x = 2×30= 60°

120°+60°=180°

hence verified .
