Length of AB = 12 cm

Step-by-step explanation:

Given that

DE||BC

AE = 3 cm

CE= 6 cm

AD= 4 cm

From the figure

DE || BC , thus

Δ ADE ≅ ΔABC

⇒  \frac{AD}{AB} =  \frac{AE}{AC}

Put all the values from the figure we get

\frac{4}{4 + x} = \frac{3}{9}

⇒ 36 = 12 + 3 x

⇒ 3 x = 24

⇒ x = 8 cm

⇒ Length of AB = 4 + x

⇒ Length of AB = 4 + 8 = 12 cm
