QUESTION➡

In figure 1 a parallelogram is drawn in a trapezuim If the area of the paralleogram is 390 cm^2 , find the area of trapezium.

_______________________________________________

ANSWER➡

Area of parallelogram= 390 cm^2

_____________________________________________

To find the height,

Area of parallelogram= Base× Height

=> 390= 15× height

=> height= 390/15

=> height= 26 cm

_____________________________________________

IN THE CASE OF TRIANGLE,

Base = 25- 15 = 10 cm

Height= 26 cm

_____________________________________________

Area of Triangle = 1/2 × base × height

=1/2 ×10× 26

=5× 26

= 130 square cm

_____________________________________________

Area of trapezium= Area of parallelogram + Area of Triangle

= 390+130

 = 520cm{}^{2}

_____________________________________________

Therefore,

Area of trapezium is 520 cm^2
