① In figure 5, sides QP and RQ of ∆PQR are produced to the points S and T respectively. If ∠SPR= 1350 and

∠PQT = 1100

, then find ∠PRQ.

② In figure 6, if PQ ⊥ PS, PQ ∥ SR, ∠SQR = 280

and ∠QRT = 650

then find the values of x and y.

Given : sides QP and RQ of ∆PQR are produced to the points S and T respectively.  ∠SPR= 135° and  ∠PQT = 110°

To Find :  ∠PRQ

Solution:

∠SPR  = ∠PQR  + ∠PRQ

∠PQT  = ∠QPR  + ∠PRQ

external angle of triangle = sum of opposite internal angles

∠SPR  =  135°

∠PQT= 110°

∠SPR + ∠PQT =  ∠PQR  + ∠PRQ + ∠QPR  + ∠PRQ

∠PQR  + ∠PRQ + ∠QPR   = 180° ( sum of angles of triangle PQR)

=> 135° +  110° = 180° + ∠PRQ

=> 245° = 180° + ∠PRQ

=> 65° =  ∠PRQ

for part 2 figure is required
